We start by understand what stage a business is current experience. The four stages of business development include:
- Infancy: Business makes the transformation from an idea to actually existing. A business owner will take their ideas and create a strategy for funding, setting up, and running of the business.
- Toddler: The Business gains a foothold in the marketplace and develops a customer base. The business should steadily increase during this stage.
- Adolescence: Cash flow stabilizes and marketing efforts become consistent. Products / service have become well know and there is a loyal following.
- Adult: Business has reached a level of self-sustainability and can fully function / growth without direct input from business owner.
Within each stage of business, there are eight components that must work together in harmoney to allow the business to function, grow, and develop:
- Product &/or Service
- Customer Service and Delivery
- Marketing
- Sales
- Business Analytics
- Systems and Automation
- Management, Policies and Procedures
- Organizational Support (People)
Within each components of business, there are four focal points that must be considered and applied:
- Strategy - Strategy refers to the "why" and "what" of a business. The strategy defines the method that you will use to accomplish the task at hand and the objectives. A solid business model will establish strategies for each of the eight components of business, as applied to each stage of business development.
- Process - Process refers to "how" the strategy is implemented. Sequence of interdependent and linked procedures, which, at every stage, consume one or more resources (employee time, energy, machines, money) to convert inputs (data, material, parts, etc.) into outputs. These outputs then serve as inputs for the next stage until a known goal or end result is reached. [BusinessDictionary.com].
- Execution - Execution is the link between business aspirations and results. It is the "actions" that are necessary to carry out the process. Without execution, your business idea never comes to fruition. A well thought out execution plan is required to have a sustainable business.
- People - The people are "whom" you need to execute on the process. At each stage, consideration is made to ensure that the correct people are in place to facilitate the other 3 focal points. Based on the individual stages and components, the people may be internal employees or external experts or consultants They can be part time, full time or seasonal employees.
The actual process of educating the business owner is accomplished through the SkillPreneur® Business System Modules.
