"Working with ABEL Business Institute has completely revolutionized my business. I learned the essential business skills necessary to build my business."
"With my business, I was struggling with organization and productivity. I couldn't locate the documents that I needed, and I was often intimidated negotiating and participating in business meetings. The Daily ‘Do-It' Dashboard eliminated all of my clutter and improved my organizational skills and my company's productivity nearly doubled. Now I feel comfortable, organized, and secure when introducing potential clients to my products."
"When I found the SkillPreneur Association, I learned that my business was actually managing me, instead of me managing my business. I was doing everything from creating and developing my product to administrative and sales tasks. It was very inefficient and I was very stressed. As a SkillPreneur Association member I learned to be a manager of a business rather than a manager of things. For the first time, I was able to strictly focus on my business. Needless to say, my business began to thrive and the mood in the office was healthy and productive."
"The day that I started my own business, I was instantly confused. I couldn't figure out how everyone around me seemed to be so well-versed in the business world, while I was struggling to just get going with my business. After much consideration, I decided to invest in a business advisor. ABEL Business Institute revamped my entire business. I instantly began to notice a change. My business began to take a 180 degree turn -and before I knew it - I was turning a profit for the first time in my professional life. Investing in ABEL Business Institute remains one of the single-most important business investments that I have ever made."
"Ed and ABEL Business Institute taught me invaluable business fundamentals. When I started my own business, I was allowing so many of my decisions and actions to occur out of my control - I left them both up to circumstance. The truth is that I had never felt that I had full control over my business, and I had a constant feeling that things were "just happening" around me. Ultimately, I became paralyzed when it came to making important decisions. However, Ed ended that. Through his mentoring and support system, Ed has taught me to OWN every decision I make, as well as the direction of my business. Though it was difficult at first, Ed taught me that nothing gets accomplished without awareness and total ownership. Eventually, decisions began to feel like they were mine - I had the confidence to really make those important decisions. With my new found feeling of actually having my hands around my business, I am no longer susceptible to surprise - I am no longer blindsided by occurrences that arise. My business finally feels like it's mine."
"My time management was a mess. Upon meeting with Ed, we set up a plan where I was able to better allocate my time in order to accomplish and prioritize my daily tasks. The more organized that I became, the more I began to realize that my business was managing me instead of me managing my business. Only after I was able to gain control of my business, I was able to spend more time making decisions rather than spending the majority of my time attempting to complete unrealistic tasks in unrealistic deadlines. With Ed's help, my business's time allocations process could not be more organized - my business is running so smoothly."
Case Study
"eenamaria started business in 2004 and as the Owner and Design Director I know I built a concept that was strong in aesthetics and direction. I came from a family of entrepreneurs, so there was no doubt that I was an independent business woman, with the guts and confidence to carry my project through. But, I still felt that it was taking me a very long time to meet the dreams that I had when I opened my door for business.
At this point, I was introduced to E-Myth, Think and Grow Rich and The 4 Hour Work Week. They were all nods to the world that I knew that I wanted to build, that I had seen everyone else in my family build, but somewhere along the line, I felt that I was being driven, but had not been doing the driving myself for some time. This included disgruntled, inefficient employees, lost opportunities, missed deadlines and slow performance.
These are always issues in businesses, of course, but I felt overrun by the failures and was exhausted by the upstream battle. When I started working with Abel Business Institute, there were two impacts, immediate and long term. There was a fast injection of clearing up the mess that I was currently in and because I had grown accustomed to procrastinating, I was surprised by how quickly I was able to fire the wrong people, improve my relationships with the right people and let go of situations that were holding me back. In the long term, I started learning the art of building alliances, on a personal level and on a professional level. Time started opening up on my calendar, hell; I started looking at my calendar.
The MBA group acted as a monthly gauge for measuring the attainment of my goals. I also started to feel lighter and became aware that the talent I had was no longer being wasted, since there was now and organized use of it and I could take the time to enjoy the success that I was having. I started to realize that the only way I was going to get others to invest in my business and my products, was by being the essence of what I wanted people to believe in about my business. I brought in an assistant whose expertise matched my needs, instead of always thinking I had to bring in someone inexperienced and take the time to train them. This lightened my load and I could become a true ambassador and celebrator of my company.
Now, after working with Abel Business Institute for a year and half, with help on everything from emails, phone calls and negotiations to strategizing, year planning and goal setting. I have just returned from promoting my line at the Golden Globes, in preparation for my first show at London Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week as well as my first appearance on QVC. QVC and HSN were in competition for the line and in the end it was QVC who offered the greatest return.
I am getting ready to head to Sundance Film Festival to promote the line this weekend and the world I could only have dreamed of a few years ago is now happening. Beyond building my business, I have also learned how to balance my life and forge a world that easily transits between personal and professional. Trials are now challenges and confusion is now a puzzle I haven't yet solved. A very different perspective from the one I had a two years ago."
